Are you feeling stuck for ideas this Christmas? Maybe you haven’t been able to get to the shops to have a browse of what’s available, so you feel uninspired?
You may know that I’ve been busy taking part in online events that showcase lots of independent businesses from across the UK. I’ve also been saving original, thoughtful gifts that have caught my eye, made by other makers at these fairs. It’s been a joy to discover many new, small businesses, so I can’t help but share with you!
What can you expect in this gift guide?
This year I’ve focused on two areas that I feel are central to the way we’ve had to adjust to a change in lifestyle.
Many of us have been working from home and with winter approaching, now is a great time to update the house to make it feel more comfortable and cosy.
It’s also been important to take care of our mental and physical health this year, more than ever, so I’ve included a range of gifts for well-being. Remember, this isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. It’s important to take care of yourself; if you feel like you need permission then you have mine!
As well as these two important categories there are loads more ideas in between, including art prints, fashion, jewellery (of course!), Christmas décor and food/drink.
How to shop the gift guide?
Follow this link to find my gift guide on Pinterest titled ‘Small Business Christmas Gift Guide 2020.’ In this guide, everything is divided into categories to make it easier for you to browse. If you see anything you like, select the image and click the link to take you directly to this product, or the page that the product is on.
You can save anything you like the look of by re-pinning it to a board you already have. Or why not create a new board full of ideas for that special someone?
Top Tip: make a private board titled with the name of the giftee and fill it with things you think they’ll love. Come back to it when you feel stuck for ideas to feel inspired again or when you’re ready to make a purchase.
If you see anything that you like for yourself (you deserve a treat too) then be sure to pass those links on to others in the form of a wish list to get them supporting small businesses too. You don’t have to make a purchase to show your support; each share, like or comment really helps out. If you know someone else that’ll love something then share it with them.
I really hope you enjoy browsing this gift guide. I’ve taken time to curate it myself, based on things I’ve loved discovering or know that others will find a joy to own. This gift guide has been created with the aim of making it as inclusive and diverse as possible, I’m still discovering new independent brands too, so this might even get an update in the run up to Christmas. Keep those eyes peeled and give the board a follow on Pinterest.
Remember—things that are a joy to look at are a joy to make.
Let me know what joyful discoveries you’ve made in the comments. I’d love to know!
